Situation
Johnson & Johnson is the world’s largest health care company and has been at the forefront of medical innovation for over 135 years. Band-Aid, Tylenol, Johnson’s Baby products, and Neutrogena Skincare are everyday items with which nearly all U.S. consumers are familiar. What might be a surprise to most people, is that Johnson & Johnson is the leader in the development of cutting-edge laser vision technology in the world. At the Johnson & Johnson Laser Vision Center in Milpitas, CA, scientists work to develop some of the most advanced vision correction technology used by clinicians to improve patient care. Porygon Studios partnered with key staff at the J&J Laser Vision Center to develop a professional video to succinctly summarize recent advancements in the company’s laser technology.
Strategy
Over the course of six months, Porygon Studios collaborated with the J&J team to identify key terminology and concepts to be used in the script, visuals, animations, and overall messaging. The pre-production phase of this project focused on gaining a clear understanding of the technology and products while determining what information was crucial to share with the video’s target audience. This phase included several in-person trips to the Laser Vision Center and remote meetings with key staff. The production phase included one full day of shooting on location. The post-production phase included coordinating our video editors, animators, voice-over talent, and J&J staff to efficiently produce the final video.
Results
Porygon Studios delivered a four-minute educational video that succinctly summarized the Laser Vision Center’s most recent advancements in laser technology. This video is a centerpiece in the Center’s internal communication strategy, keeping stakeholders across the organization informed of the innovative work being done to improve people’s vision worldwide.
